NSC grilled for probe pick in shooting scandal

The National Sports Council of Bangladesh is facing public criticism over its chosen committee to investigate sexual harassment claims within the Bangladesh Shooting Federation. The council formed a three-member group, led by Nibedita Das of the Swimming Federation and including NSC official Shaharia Sultana Suchi and Shooting Federation member Daiyan Nafis, to submit a report within seven days.

The inclusion of Daiyan Nafis, an active executive committee member of the very federation under investigation, has prompted accusations of a biased inquiry. Former national shooter Sharmin Akter Ratna publicly condemned the move, stating that a predator is now acting as a protector. She demanded genuine accountability from authorities, asserting the country is not a lawless domain for orchestrated dramas.
