Peevski ‘twisting Borisov’s hands,’ warns Ali about government changes
MP Taner Ali from the “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” commented on a possible change in the Bulgarian government following the cancellation of a Council of Ministers meeting. This came after GERB leader Boyko Borisov announced that, due to GERB-SDF’s poor performance in the municipal elections in Pazardzhik, he no longer takes responsibility for the government and will not provide a quorum.
Ali agreed with Borisov’s claim that ministries are essentially “on concession,” adding that his party would assess the situation. He suggested that Delyan Peevski might be maneuvering behind the scenes, potentially weakening GERB as he had previously done to other parties, including the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. When asked about a possible coalition between Borisov and Peevski, Ali expressed that anything could happen in Bulgarian politics.
