Radev challenges DANS law, Milanov warns of political chaos

President Rumen Radev returned the Law on Amendments to the Law on the State Agency “National Security” (DANS) to the National Assembly for further discussion. Gen. Rumen Milanov, former head of the NSBOP and NSO, commented that if it were up to him, he would veto other related laws, arguing that reducing the concentration of power would be beneficial.

Milanov stressed that services should function efficiently, regardless of political influence. He stated that replacing Daniel Mitov with another leader would not solve the underlying issues, as the structure itself needs attention.

Milanov also discussed the State Traffic Inspectorate, suggesting it should be divided into two parts for better management. He warned that changes made out of emotion, especially to the Constitution, would not lead to good governance. He criticized the frequent changes in leadership, like replacing the National Assembly speaker, as ineffective.
