Sammy and King attend optional West Indies training in Dhaka

West Indies head coach Darren Sammy and opener Brandon King attended an optional training session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday afternoon, after the team canceled their scheduled practice and pre-series press conference earlier that day.

The West Indies team, who arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday for a six-match white-ball series against Bangladesh, had planned to train at the academy ground and interact with the media, but those plans were called off.

Despite the cancellation, Sammy and King took advantage of the facilities. King, with previous experience in Bangladesh, is expected to play a key role at the top of the order.

The rest of the team rested at their hotel after traveling from India, where they recently finished a two-match Test series. Full training will resume on Friday ahead of the first ODI on 18 October.
