Search underway for missing hiker Stefani on Vitosha

Rescue teams and relatives are searching for 25-year-old Stefani, who went missing on Vitosha Mountain. She was last seen on Thursday around 5 p.m. near the Boyana residence, heading toward the mountain. Stefani is known to enjoy hiking in the areas around the Kamen del hut and peak, Kopitoto, and Boyana Waterfall, and may travel off established trails, which has made the search more difficult.

Stefani was wearing a white jacket reaching her knees, a brown tracksuit, and gray hiking boots. She is about 1.70 meters tall, with short black hair. At the time she disappeared, she did not have a phone, identification, money, or a headlamp, adding to the challenges for rescue teams working after dark. The Mountain Rescue Service is asking anyone with information to call 0884 512 230, the number for Stefani’s mother. Search efforts are focusing on the areas around Boyana Waterfall, Kamen del, and Kopitoto, and hikers in Vitosha are urged to stay alert and report any possible sightings.
