Sergio Gor meets Modi, discusses trade and defence in India visit
US Ambassador-designate Sergio Gor called his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi “incredible,” discussing trade, critical minerals, and defense. This was his first statement during his six-day visit to India following his confirmation by the US Senate. Gor met with various officials, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, to discuss the India-US relationship and its global impact. PM Modi expressed confidence that Gor’s tenure would strengthen the India-US strategic partnership. Gor, 38, is the youngest US Ambassador to India and previously worked in the White House, overseeing over 4,000 appointments. His visit comes amid challenges like rising H1B visa costs and trade uncertainties.
