Siromahov and Trifonov part ways after controversial law dispute

Slavi Trifonov, leader of “Ima takvi narod,” announced on Facebook that Ivo Siromahov is no longer working with the team. Trifonov expressed gratitude for the time spent working together and acknowledged Siromahov’s talent, saying every person has the right to choose their own path in life.

Siromahov, in his own Facebook post, confirmed his departure from Television 7/8, stating that the network is beginning a new chapter. He wished Trifonov and Toshko health, freedom, and happiness, and hoped they would retain their dignity and intelligence.

The reason for the split likely relates to Siromahov’s criticism of a controversial bill proposed by ITN, which would imprison journalists for revealing private data. In his post, Siromahov expressed dismay over the bill, questioning the party’s commitment to free speech and recalling unfulfilled promises made during their time in power.
