Smita Pant discusses education, technology ties with Uzbekistan universities

Smita Pant, India’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, visited Bukhara State University to explore scientific and educational collaboration with Rector Obidjon Khamidov. She also gave a keynote address at a seminar on ‘Intelligent Learning Platforms and Automated Systems.’

Pant previously participated in an event at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies for International Day of Girl Child, where she highlighted Indian government initiatives like ‘Save the Girl Child’ and ‘Educate the Girl Child.’

On October 9, Pant presented advanced software tools developed by the Indian Army Training Team to the University of Military Security and Defence, supporting India-Uzbekistan ties in IT, AI, and Cybersecurity.

India recognized Uzbekistan’s sovereignty early after its independence, and the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992. They upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Partnership in 2011.
