SNDP’s Sai Aik Pao calls for unity and job creation

Shan and Nationalities Democratic Party chairman Thiri Pyanchi Sao Aik Pao outlined his organization’s platform during a broadcast presentation on the evening of Sunday, November 9, emphasizing economic recovery through international sanction relief and foreign investment restoration. The party, registered in June 2023 as successor to the former Shan Nationalities Democratic Party, aims to represent all citizens while prioritizing regional stability and legal frameworks that encourage capital inflows and employment generation.

Policy initiatives include establishing official overseas labor agencies to protect migrant workers, developing affordable housing for low-wage employees, and creating a Thailand border trade corridor through southern Shan State to stabilize national commodity pricing. Agricultural mechanization programs would reduce manual labor requirements while increasing farmer productivity and income.

The chairman called for decentralized governance structures balancing central and local authority, urging citizens to support building a democratic federal union.
