Tatmadaw heroes honored with lavish ceremony
Myanmar military personnel who served at border posts returned from active duty and were honored during a reception on Tuesday morning at a battalion facility. Lt. Gen. Nyunt Win Swe from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) joined Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo and various local officials at the event, which drew ethnic residents, educators, students, and relatives of service members. The returning troops received flower garlands and were greeted with performances by cultural groups.
An awards ceremony followed at the Hpa-an battalion hall, where Lt. Gen. Nyunt Win Swe and Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo recognized the soldiers’ service. The military personnel received commendations for their operations along the frontier.
The state’s senior military officer and political leader then hosted a meal in recognition of the returning Tatmadaw forces. The celebration marked the conclusion of the soldiers’ deployment to Myanmar’s border regions, where they had been stationed during recent military operations.
