Tazaungdine festival kicks off in Monywa with ceremony and performances

Sagaing Region authorities inaugurated their annual Tazaungdine celebration on Monday at Union Square near Kanthaya Lake in eastern Monywa Township. Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw joined Brig. Gen. Myo Min Htwe from North-West Command and regional judicial officials for ribbon-cutting ceremonies that launched the multi-day event. University students, neighborhood leaders and residents attended the gathering.

After the opening formalities concluded, organizers distributed beverages and refreshments to students and community members who gathered for the festivities. Musical acts featuring prominent vocalists entertained attendees while government employees released 1,000 balloons sequentially into the air. Pyrotechnic displays concluded the evening program.
