Three Bangladeshis beaten to death in Tripura

Three Bangladeshi nationals have been beaten to death by local residents in Tripura, India, with the incident confirmed by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Habiganj Battalion on the night of 15 October.

The victims were from the Sonachang Bazar area in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj district, but their exact identities have not been verified. According to BGB, the men crossed the border from the Vidyabil area in Srimangal upazila into Tripura’s Karengichhara area a few days ago.

The locals, suspecting them of being cattle thieves, attacked them, killing all three on the spot. The bodies are now held at Shampahar police station in India. The BGB is working with the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to verify the details and gather more information.
