Trakia and Struma repairs start with traffic limits

Bulgaria’s Road Infrastructure Agency has initiated maintenance work on the Trakia and Struma highways, imposing temporary lane restrictions for motorists. Asphalt repairs along a 3.3-kilometer stretch of Trakia highway between the 330th and 334th kilometer markers in the Burgas region will force traffic into overtaking lanes through late November, with active and emergency lanes closed in the Sofia-bound direction.

Separate warranty repairs on viaduct joints near Dupnitsa at the 58th kilometer of the Struma motorway will restrict the Sofia-bound active lane during daytime hours. The agency acknowledged the inconvenience to drivers while emphasizing the necessity of these safety improvements.

Officials urged motorists to exercise caution, follow posted speed limits, and avoid dangerous passing maneuvers that could endanger other travelers during the construction period.
