Two dead in Faridpur highway crash
A collision on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway killed two passengers and wounded multiple others early on Friday morning. The Jamuna Line bus struck an unidentified truck near Tarail Bus Stand around 2:30 a.m. in Bhanga Upazila, prompting some travelers to exit the vehicle. A cargo truck then crashed into the stopped bus from behind at approximately the same location.
Emergency responders transported wounded passengers to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex for treatment. A 35-year-old man died at the crash site, while Farzana, age 30, from Bera Upazila, died at the medical facility. Her daughter Jannatul, 18 months old, sustained serious injuries requiring transfer to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Shibchar Highway Police impounded both vehicles for investigation.
