Union minister reviews 10th NCA anniversary ceremony
Myanmar’s government reviewed its nationwide ceasefire anniversary event and received 93 proposals about politics, economics and peace matters. Union Minister Yar Pyae told officials on Wednesday that organizers held meetings with armed groups and moderators before the 10th anniversary celebration themed Building a Peaceful Future of Myanmar.
The minister said some recommendations offer positive guidance and showed youth interest in peace efforts. Officials must analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the ceremony to improve future events and submit accurate spending reports in accordance with financial rules. The steering committee organized four meetings while working groups held sessions with ceasefire signatories and political dialogue participants.
Deputy ministers discussed budgets and operational strengths from their committees. Yar Pyae said Myanmar needs to train people for peace work and develop regional economic programs that support stability. Ministries should continue implementing workshop recommendations after the new government begins its term.
