University Teachers Link forms Dhaka University branch committee

The University Teachers Link (UTL), an organization for university teachers in both government and private institutions, has formed a 26-member convening committee for its Dhaka University branch. Professor Zubair Muhammad Ehsanul Haque from the Department of Arabic will serve as convener, and Professor Md Motaleb Hossain from the Department of Mathematics will be the member secretary.

The committee was announced by UTL Central Convener, Professor Md Ataur Rahman Biswas, at a press conference at the Dhaka University Club on Thursday. UTL was formed with the principles of knowledge, self-respect, faith, and freedom, aiming to protect teachers’ dignity, ensure academic integrity, and foster excellence in research and national development. The newly appointed DU convener, Professor Haque, emphasized the need for a teachers’ organization that upholds the moral and intellectual leadership of university educators, especially after the July 2024 revolution.
