USDP vows unity with Tatmadaw rule
The Union Solidarity and Development Party promised agricultural debt relief and wage increases in a televised address on Monday as the nation prepares for elections in December. Party Chairman U Khin Ye outlined plans to transform government bureaucracy, strengthen law enforcement and establish trade zones with reduced import taxes for farmers and businesses.
The party will coordinate constitutional amendments while supporting military defense operations. Officials plan to link households directly to police stations through networked communication systems and create specialized units for wildlife and cultural site protection.
Education reforms include free schooling through middle school and alternative programs for students unable to attend regular classes. Healthcare expansion will bring medical services closer to rural populations while reducing treatment costs at public hospitals.
The party emphasized economic policies aimed at stabilizing commodity prices and attracting foreign investment. Vocational training will meet regional standards to prepare workers for new employment opportunities following the multiparty vote scheduled for Dec. 28.
