Vigenin warns Sofia faces garbage crisis again
Kristian Vigenin, MEP and member of the BSP executive bureau, spoke on BNT about the Commission for Combating Corruption and the risk of losing funds under the PVP. He said the stakes are too high to lose the 200 million euros and believes a solution will be found. Vigenin stressed the need to work seriously on fighting corruption and avoid closing commissions without long-term plans.
He also commented on Sofia’s garbage crisis, predicting more problems at the year’s end. Vigenin criticized the lack of strategic thinking in the government and said the Bulgarian Socialist Party has the right plan for Sofia. He believes local governments should handle essential city functions directly.
On the water supply crisis, Vigenin said the issue will persist without proper funding for infrastructure improvements in next year’s budget.
