Yotova criticizes state on business
Bulgaria has prioritized fiscal constraints over business partnerships as the country prepares its first eurozone budget, according to Vice President Iliana Yotova, who addressed industry leaders at the 35th annual Mr. and Mrs. Economy awards ceremony organized by the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists. Yotova criticized government officials for dismissing economic development strategies and failing to engage meaningfully with private sector priorities regarding investment opportunities and necessary state support mechanisms.
The vice president rejected attempts to position public administrators against commercial enterprises, emphasizing that skilled bureaucracy remains essential for business success. She commended award recipients for sustained investment in workforce development and innovation despite challenging conditions, stating that productive entrepreneurs deserve protection as they contribute to national prosperity.
