ZDF backs Zunde raMambo with inputs in Mashonaland West

Zimbabwe Defence Forces distributed agricultural supplies to 30 chiefs in Mashonaland West Province to strengthen the Zunde raMambo food security initiative. Chief of Staff Quarter Master Staff Major General Simo Maseko presented seed maize, sorghum, sunflower seed, fertilizers, blankets, and foodstuffs from military partners and corporate donors at the Traditional Leaders Day commemoration in Kariba. The general emphasized that peace requires development and adequate nutrition in communities across the nation.

Chiefs Council Mashonaland West provincial chairman Chief Ngezi said traditional leaders serve as primary welfare providers and the military assistance helps prevent hunger-related instability. Chief Msampakaruma praised the collaboration between defense personnel and tribal authorities as a demonstration of mutual respect. The distribution supports President Mnangagwa’s policy of equitable development while reinforcing historical ties between traditional leaders and armed forces that date to the liberation war era.
