ZDF personnel undergo training to improve financial management under IPSAS standards
Over 200 personnel from the Ministry of Defence and Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) are diving into a crucial five-day training course on International Public Sector Accounting Standards at Chegutu’s Jason Ziyapapa Moyo Air Force Base. The course, focusing on financial transparency, includes officers from the southern region’s bases in Bulawayo, Midlands, Masvingo, and Mashonaland West.
This intensive training is essential as the ZDF works to improve asset and inventory management, aiming for better financial accountability. Air Vice Marshal Selebale Masera stressed the need for urgent upgrades in compliance, particularly in handling military assets, including non-cash items like equipment and barracks. The goal? Stronger financial systems in line with global standards.
